Total Betty is the brainchild of Nadra Nittle, a Los Angeles-based journalist. Over the years Nadra has reported on a number of topics thought too taboo for the dinner table, namely race, religion and politics. Her writing on these issues and lighter fare, such as fashion and pop culture, has been featured by an eclectic mix of news organizations, including About.com, New America Media, the Maynard Institute and Outreach Magazine. Nadra has an affinity for retro—from Hitchcock films to 1950s style dresses and pin-up girls from Bettie Page to Betty Boop. The name of this site is certainly no accident.
